Belarus and Ukraine intend to move to settlements in the hryvnia, has informed Deputy Head of NBU Alexander Savchenko.
"We now conclude an agreement with Belarus. Belarus wants to transactions between us were in the local currency. This is a good idea it's a good idea "- he said.
He also said Ukraine on a number of trade with Russia expects the Russian ruble.
According to the National Bank, in the structure of the settlement of transactions current account balance of Ukraine for the first half of 2008, the share of dollars accounted for 73,1% - on income and 69,1% - on payments; on the share of Russian rubles - 12,9% and 7,2% respectively, the share of euros - 12,9% and 22,2% for the Ukrainian hryvnia - 0,4% and 0, 3%, the share of other currencies - 0,7 and 1,2%.
At the same time according to National Bank of Ukraine, Belarus, the share in total foreign trade turnover of Ukraine in the first half of 2008 was 3.4% ($ 2.52 billion): for export accounted for $ 1.053 billion, on imports - $ 1.467 billion
